Yellow Brain Fungus (?)
Please correct me if my ID is incorrect. I place my trust in Mr Collins' publications. :-)
I had taken a few images of silver foliage this morning using a lightweight tripod. Flossie decided she needed a tripod more than I did. Imagine the sweary words exchanged as we tussled over possession of the bloody thing while I tried to prevent the camera and macro lens from being bent!
Swillin' Billy and Kitty came for coffee, JazzyB also joined us. JB's monkey had to depart as his mate finally arrived to take him to see Emmanuelle 3.
Went for a prance around the combe with Flossie and discovered this piece of fungus growing from a dead branch on the deck. Just managed to beat the wrecker of a dog to it. Collins reckons it's Yellow Brain Fungus. Met an interesting couple who had been exploring the local mine shafts and galleries. They showed us some of their findings.
Iron pyrites in quartz, copper sulphate (?) which had leached onto another set of small stones, it looked like a deep blue Topaz. Hidden beneath our feet there are caverns filled with wonderful colours and refractive crystal.
Apologies for lack of commentating this evening. I have some monitor calibration to play with.
