Banyan Tree

I think that is what this strange tree is called, which was growing near the harbour in Palma.
Also called the Indian Fig Tree. Which I is regarded as a sacred tree.
The aerial roots grow fron the branches , and it certainly looked weird!
I think we saw some similar trees when we were in Florida, but have never seen one in Europe.
Funny how no-one else seemed to notice it, they just walked straight past.
Obviously not blippers!

We spent a lovely day in Palma, wandering round the old narrow streets. Found a nice little place for lunch where we had the menu of the day, which started with a delicious red pepper soup. (will have a go at making some myself)

The weather was very warm and sunny. We had decided to go in on the bus so that we didn't have to worry about parking.
Was fine on the way in, but at about 3pm the dark clouds could be seen in the distance, and so we decided to make for the bus stop before the heavens opened.
Everyone else had the same idea! By the time the bus came it had just started raining, and unlike England there was no orderly queue, just a free for all!
We were packed in like sardines, but we managed to get a seat. I felt sorry for those standing up.
By the time we got back to Andratx the sun was out again.
