Corstorphine Hill
The snow had stopped before I left for work, however there was still lots of ice, so I cycled down the main road until I got low enough down to be confident the roads would be safe. Some were still snow covered, but I made it ok.
Lunchtime looked a lot nicer. Looks almost springlike from the photo, but the walk to get the blip of Corstorphine Hill was in a strong, cold breeze. One of those days where your glad to get back in to the warmth.
Most of the green area, centre and left of centre is Edinburgh Zoo. Just right of centre, the orange chinese dragon is the Panda Enclosure at Edinburgh Zoo, The red stone building just left of centre is the Edinburgh Zoo Mansion House, where, if you are a RZSS member, (or used too, the website seems to say the general public can go in) you can get a nice afternoon tea in the tea room, or a posh meal in the restaurant.
Right of centre, is an open space, with paths enabling people to walk up to the top of the hill.
Cycle ride home was ok. Ice on the road where there was still some snow. So I try to ride on the north side of the road where the sun was melted the snow, and the wind has dried the surface. Come home to a dark and almost empty house, but Lulu wants her tea. Twin 2 appears from a bathroom (he hasn't switched on any lights apart from the bathroom one) and twin 1 is waiting for the bus, So that's their tea required as well.
