Everyday I Write The Book

By Eyecatching

Four seasons in one day

Well not quite. But certainly a big swing between blue skies and sunshine one minute and freezing hail the next. We were sitting snugly - or was that smugly ? - in Carluccios eating cauliflower orecchiette and watching people running for cover. This was a deserved reward for finishing the next stage of decorating, which was complicated by my overbalancing and throwing paint all over one of the settees. And the rug. And the floor.

But all’s wel that ends well. The lounge looks rather gorgeous now, good  enough to fall asleep in later in the afternoon. The harsh yellow has been replaced by a shade called puppy paws, which is one of those mix your own jobs from B&Q. All the paints have names and there are hundreds of them; someone must have spent weeks in a hotel room thinking them up. Names like Nostalgic Toffee, Blushing Virgin and Vegan Green. Okay I made those up but you get the point.

So much more to do. I replaced a panel in the conservatory that concealed some waste pipes and there is skirting to do and fitted shelving to make. All very exciting. In fact it has become something of a hobby. A project. A labour of love.

Back to the paid job tomorrow. Been a good three days.
