Waterloo
Sunshine, blue sky and a little sprinkling of snow this morning. Not a day to stay indoors. I took this on the road leading to the start of our walk.
I had chosen unwisely. I thought Dere Street, the old Roman road, would provide a nice solid surface for a stroll. But the section we were on was a sea of mud, due to wash-out from the fields, tractor traffic and the fast-melting snow.
But the views were lovely, and I only fell over once.
The tower on the hill is a memorial to the Scottish soldiers who fell at the battle of Waterloo.
