The stage is set....

I had a wonderful time today at the engagement function of the daughter of some dear friends. The event took place in an enormous auditorium. The blip shows the stage before the event got going. We sat at tables set for lunch, nine rows of eight tables each set for eight. There was also a similar room below us, similarly set out where proceedings were broadcast via video link.
The couple looked splendid, beautifully dressed and confident as they read a bible passage each. A choir of young people from their church in Bangalore sang, their fathers spoke and, as the father of one is a pastor, various members of the clergy spoke.
The atmosphere was one of great affection and encouragement and I was very pleased to be there.
We finished with a very tasty lunch then for me it was back in the car for a five hour drive to Tirunelvelli.
