For the first time in three years I ran the Carnethy 5 hill race. Carnethy is the name of the club which puts it on, and (top-right of the picture) is the last of the race's five Pentland summits. The weather wasn't as nice as this for the whole race. When I passed nadinepierce on the top of South Black Hill, where she was marshalling, we were being drenched by a squall of cold rain. I was going well uphill, but didn't have the confidence to run fast downhill due the the muddy and slippery conditions. Although 01:12:16 was three seconds away from being the longest I've taken for the race (in the eight times I've done it) at my age and in these conditions I was satisfied.
