Suffragette City
I went along today to support the women.
It wasn't just a celebration of the centenery of some women winning the right to vote. This was about fair and equal pay from the City Council. The woman and the Unions have already won a legal case but the matter is far from settled. The council is currently having to consider how to settle 11,000 claims for past discrimination against female workers.
(The placard in the picture shows 'Christ of Saint John of the Cross' by Salvador Dali which is one of the City's treasures housed in Kelvingrove Art Gallery).
