The AOG...Alternative Olympic Games

Most people think that this night is only for the opening ceremony, but...some of the competitions have already started.

This was a relay event. The 800 meter 4-bird speed skating final. BUT...THERE IS NO ICE! So, the pelicans had to stay in the water, and just move their little webbed feet. 200 meters for each competitor.

Team Brown was the winner in a close race. Team White was second, and Team Seagull third. (Team Seagull was relegated to the Flickr page.)

All three teams were waiting in the water for their medals. But, instead of gold, silver, and bronze...the medal presenter threw in a big hunk of fish.

Bedlam and bad sportsmanship ensued.

Team White screamed..."WE WANT THE FISH! WE WANT THE FISH!"

They attacked the anchor of Team Brown, and practically drowned him...running off with the fish. Terrible bird behavior, and not a good start to the games.

UPDATE FROM YESTERDAY: My camera still smells like pelican poop. As for my bag, after several washing attempts, and spraying it 3 times with Febreeze...we finally threw it in the washing machine. It's good now.
