Nelson's column

Today I went into London with a colleague to deliver a talk to the University of Westminster's Transport Management course in Baker Street. Afterwards we went to the National Gallery to see some paintings and my colleague, who is very knowledgeable about art, opened my eyes to the meanings of some of his favourite works. A very interesting visit. Outside it was grim, an ideal gallery day, and with the pavements glistening wet it was the perfect day for reflections.
