Winter sun

Today has been a long day. Today in maastricht it was 24 degrees, which was perfect for the day we have chosen to put mum to rest.

The ceremony was really lovely, the priest was very new age, which mum would have really liked. I stood with my eyes closed with my face to the sun and just soaked in the warmth which surrounded me. I am sure mum had a hand in the glorious sunshine today and i could feel her around me today. Her ashes are now finally at rest with Opa, which makes me feel peaceful. Oma was so very sad, but i think that the ritual of bringing mum back will hopefully give her some peace as well.

We went back to my aunt's for cake and have just chilled out the rest of the evening. It's just nice to be surrounded by family.

Whilst i feel sad today, i also feel more at peace than i have up until now.
