Mother in laws birthday

Paula invited us out for the day & we met up in Eschenlohe near Garmisch at the Hotel/Restaurant/Butcher Zur Brucke for lunch. Fantastic weather: +25°C - warmest 19th October for 130 years. In the pic are daughter #2 Sigi, husband Gerhard, daughter #3 Angie, husband Peter (Max) & the birthday girl herself sitting on the terrace alongside the River Loisach.
The rather "plain" wall along the banks is an unfortunate neccesity following several very bad floodings the last in August 2005.
After lunch, a walk along the river with Flash (who was under the table when photo taken), then a short car trip to a restaurant near Linderhof, the Groebl Alm for coffee (another weissbier or two) and cake.
Nigel knows the route well - Landsberg am Lech (who was locked up here in 1924 for treason, Nigel?), then this time only passing Wieskirche, Oberammergau, the Passion Play Village. Then later passing through Ettal and Linderhof to Reutte (Austria) and back to Germany at The Disneyworld Castle! and then with Angie driving a 30 minute blast up the autobahn at +180kmh home. I well remember your red knuckles clutching on to the strap & the dent in the car floor and I was driving on that occasion!
