... or "Selling Scotland by the Pound".

This is the cement factory by Dunbar, which literally sells Scotland by the pound. The limestone rock here has been mined for centuries but that was strictly small-scale and for lime for improving farm soil. For the last 50 years this industrial plant has been here, which employs a lot of people locally along with the nuclear power station just down the road. There's always mixed feelings about these industries but they keep Dunbar viable and stop it being just another commuter town.

Big Industry.

I went out for paint from the ironmonger and to pick up the Fireworks posters from the printer. After posting posters in various likely places, I went for a pootle about and ended up at the far end of town just after dark. This scene caught my eye in the misty evening glow so I balanced the camera on it's broth-bag on a fencepost and tried (unsuccessfully) to avoid being electrocuted by the fence. Ouch.

Off to Glentress tomorrow, who cares what the weather's like. Really looking forward to that.
