Abstract Thursday - Patterns

Patterns tend to taken a wider significance if there is some event of discontinuity in them, something out of place. I have introduced this element in my image of those rafia table mat by placing prisms on top of it. In any case because it is fairly roughly woven there are plenty of discontinuities within it if you look closely. Its geometrical pattern reminds me a bit of Moorish influences.
