Skew Bridge
Today, Mr MD and I were privileged to accompany fellow Blipper Corinthian Column on one of her recce walks along the towpath of the Rochdale Canal from Todmorden town centre to Summit, Littleborough. The Manchester to Leeds railway crosses the canall on Skew Bridge. Here it is seen from Shade Lock, with the Gauxholme locks visible beyond. The bridge, which has ornate castellated turrets, is an striking example of a skew railway bridge, crossing the canal at a very acute angle.
