Dormouse

This young dormouse might have been tempted out of his hole by the warmth of the bonfire but soon he  was surrounded by onlookers on his high branch. He was shaking like a leaf,  probably terrified of people sticking phones and cameras in his direction but maybe because it was very cold today. We rescued him and put him back in a dark tree trunk. Don't tell the dormouse police because you are not supposed to handle them without a licence but we thought this was an emergency.

And by the way last week I reported that the nearest beavers to us are in Devon. Today the conservation group manager told me there are beavers in Kent. Proves Google does not know everything.
