Another Memory Lane

Another bright day and another architectural pica from my neighbourhood. The water, the reed, the house design & colors give me the impression "this is Scandinavia" ..... But it's not, it's part of Den Haag too.

In 1994, that's over 25 years ago now! Den Haag's City Council announced that its plans of annexation neighbouring lands ended succesfully and immediately after they cleared off the original inhabitants of this land... Farmers who cultivated greens in their glasswarehouses and most of them were outragious coz their land and property were claimed by a hungry neighbour... city Den Haag. Surely they got compensation, but that did not satisfy any of them then as they were kicked off from their family's land.... I then understood that many (worldwide) suffer from Land Planning plans.

A short history, forgotten by many this is. Now this addition to city Den Haag houses over 20.000 people and most are pleased with their terraced home & piece of garden.
