Mud bath...

Today we were up really early as we were getting picked up at 6.30am to go to the elephant jungle sanctuary and it was well worth the early start.

It took around 40 minutes to get to the jungle where the sanctuary was. When we arrived they gave us some information on the sanctuary and how they rescue working elephants such as the ones doing elephant rides and working in shows! Never again will I ride an elephant! Then we collected buckets of fruit, corn of the cob and bamboo sticks to go and feed them. They loved the corn on the cob they peeled the leaves off with their trunks and eat it whole! After feeding them we then went in a muddy pool and gave them a mud bath then they take you to a deeper muddy looking pool to wash some of the mud off, the elephants loved it they were rolling over and squirting water out over us with their trunks! After this we stood under a huge shower and brushed off the excess mud they seemed to love it! It was an amazing expierence getting so close to the elephants and seeing how well looked after they are.

We were back by midday so spent the rest of the day sat in the sun and the swim up pool bar!

Tonight we went for a nice meal along the sea front i had a lovely king prawn Thai green curry. We then had a walk around the night market before stopping for a few drinks on the way back to the hotel!

Another amazing day I don’t want to come home!
