Suffragette jewellery

I think I’ve posted this before, but bearing in mind the current publicity around the 100 year anniversary of women being given the vote in the UK, thought it pertinent to repost. This is very special to me - I bought it several years ago in Brighton, and it is a piece of suffragette jewellery. The three colours of the stones, green for the peridot, white for the opal, and violet for the amethyst, is said to represent ‘Give Women the Vote’. Wearing jewellery in these colours would identify someone as a supporter of the cause. I bought this in memory of my mum, who always emphasised, even when she was in hospital, how important it was for me to exercise my vote!
