Buggy Nibbles

These little treats are firm favourites with just about all our garden birds, and are made from a mix of mealworms,  suet and cereal.

The nuthatch is quite a fastidious eater, and uses his beak almost like a pair of chopsticks to pick up the bit of food that he's interested in. The bullfinch, in contrast, is one of the messiest eaters around and seems to eat with his mouth full, spraying bits of seed everywhere. One of these days I will shame him by posting a photo of him in action!
