A heart among the snowdrops

A wonderful ,sunny walk with IsleMum through the Rosehaugh estate. We explored the old ruins, watched a dipper in the burn, listened to hundreds of geese fly overhead with the added sounds of buzzards calling and a woodpecker hammering and a red kite just gliding past.We were able to walk closer to the Ornamental Loch with it’s very cute boathouse and artificial island.
We were on your way back , still snapping away, when a lady asked if we had seen the snowdrops along the top, no we had not, so she gave us directions and we came across a mass of snowdrops peeping out among the fallen leaves. I liked the way the tree had created a natural heart in the middle of them all.
Back home and I spent some of the afternoon getting ready for Brownies.Another busy session where we painted three rocks , one to keep, one to hide locally and one which I’ll take to Strathpeffer to hide in the Community Garden with the rocks put there by Strathpeffer Brownies. We used nail varnish to create the designs with Aboriginal artwork as our inspiration. We were lucky to be given a whole box of nail varnish in all colours by one of the parents who actually makes it :) The girls would now like a Pamper Day and have their nails painted !
Plenty of interesting programmes about Women getting the right to vote.I enjoyed watching the Secret life of 5 year olds and hearing their views , I liked this quote from one of the little girls which went something like this ‘ men have been voting, like, before Christ, Women just 100 years, that’s not very long ! ‘
I wonder what live will be like in a 100 years and will we look back in shock at some of the things we do today.
