Walking on water

These gulls were slip sliding on the ice this afternoon at the pond on Southampton Common. There were also a couple of swans nearby who were stuck in the small part of the pond that wasn’t frozen, one of whom was breaking up the ice as it swam. It was a strange noise and a strange sight.
