Mid-rise in the burbs

Almond Court, built in 1956, was probably too far ahead of its time, and as such failed to become the norm for efficient outer suburban housing in Harold Macmillan's "age of affluence". Instead bungalow's and semi's were spread across what previously had been farmland around Edinburgh.

I have never lived in modern flats, only pre-Victorian, but think these might of been the right direction to take at the time.
