A rather nice new monument being installed by the National Trust outside Bath Abbey. I wanted to get the artist working on this, but he was munching a sandwich at the time.

In other news, I went to see the certified genius Ray Davies last night. I'm not sure I can think of any better or more consistent songwriters. Of all the proper rock and roll highlights, I think I'll remember the moment the previously seated audience, en masse, rather slowly and quietly making their way to stand in front of the stage when he played 'Days' as his first encore, as if in sympathy.
