morning gold

It was a mostly dull day with plenty of cloud cover. We did get a spectacular sunrise (also see extra) though for the short period when the sun popped up over the horizon but was still below the clouds. Arthur's Seat was nice lid up and only the chimney tops shone bright. This kind of morning light makes my day.

We had a long but interesting meeting in the afternoon discussing research software engineering and what we can do to get the university to recognise this role.
