European Champions

Here they are from left to right: Carolina Kostner, Italy; Laura Lepistö, Finland and Susanna Pöykiö, Finland. It was quite amazing competition and the home crowd were very satisfied to gold and bronze medals. Unfortunately Kiira Korpi fell and finished fifth, that that was still a very good result for her this year. I was also very thrilled about the whole event. I hope we will have a World Figure Skating Championships one year in Helsinki. At the moment it seems that Finland has very competitive women skaters and they will definitely courage younger girls to continue or start this fine sport.

I tried to use the old 300mm lens but the manual focus is just impossible to shoot any sports, so I used my 70-200mm. I guess I have to get a longer tele for occasions like these sooner or later.
