Style over substance
I was a little disappointed to slice into my morel and find I had bought £2 worth of air. In fact I wondered if I had purchased a morel shaped balloon.
Fortunately I had already decided to pair it with something subtle.
Finding some Dover sole in the shops yesterday, I accompanied that with small baked potatoes, broccoli (and as they have a similar flavour profile) a sauce made from dried porcini. See extra (without the sauce).
My advice, if you like mushrooms is to buy the small dried ones, they are much better value and pack more of a punch in a sauce. Bigger ones should be left for decoration only.
