I tried the challenge - 1 day 12 photos today... I only got 8.  But it was a ton of fun.  It made me look several times a day - it made me choose an ok shot rather than searching for perfection - I did actually have some fun with a few of the photos.  

And it made me take myself less seriously all day.  Which is a real good thing.

Thanks for the kind thoughts as we deal with illness - I am hopeful most days until a setback - but overall things are improving.  Definitely keeps life in perspective.
