Burst of sunshine, Derwentwater

LPH Day 4

Today was a day of chasing the brief bursts of sunshine through mainly cloudy skies with some showers to make the light interesting. The group split up with some going to the Ullswater area and others exploring Grasmere and Rydal.

I had to go into Keswick in the morning so had some time to practice a little street photography at the market which is a bit out of my comfort zone but thoroughly enjoyable.

After lunch I walked through very soggy fields to Mansty Woods at the Southern end of Derwent water, A beautiful area full of Autumn colour, the occasional rain giving the light a luminous quality.

The burst of sunshine in this photo lasted only about 30 seconds and for a change I was in the right place to capture it.
