Grey Heron

At the Peedie Sea in Kirkwall. A popular walking and dog-walking spot this heron seems to be getting used to people, though I notice that it has some misplaced feathers on the wing, I hope it isn't injured. I loaded this to show the value of leaving areas of parkland usually short-mown as rough grass for wildlife. If this was all short grass, then it wouldn't provide the cover for the mice and voles for which this bird is hunting.
