The HeART Of Things
All this week my church in Maidenhead is holding an art exhibit open to the public. The artist is Paul Hobbs from Gloucester and the theme of the exhibit is ‘The Heart of Things’. He is in the bottom right of the picture, giving a short talk on one group of his paintings.
This evening I was helping out with serving drinks and canapés, but I also had a chance to look at the exhibit and to listen to the artist - he gave three short talks on different parts of the exhibition. His art is mostly abstract and conceptual - not normally my thing - but I found the whole thing very fascinating! We were challenged to think about faith and society and to wrestle with some of the big themes and questions of life involving human value, famine, refugees, why is there suffering and are the Ten Commandments relevant for today?
