Flower Friday - Negative Space

Negative space - sounds like something out of Dr Who. It the process of treating all the picture that isn't the focus of the picture in such a way as to refocus on the main image. Or so they tell me. In this case it's a big sheet of whiteboard. And a tulip. I expect you spotted the tulip.

Another one of those shots that shows how badly I need to get a proper sensor clean. It took longer to clone out the oil spots than it did to take the photo in the first place! Amusingly, when I looked hard, the dirt on the sensor was the remnants of the last professional clean - tiny oil dots all in a line, left from the cleaning swab. Ah well.

I had a fun morning, meeting with a barrister who is trying to persuade the United Nations of a need for a new crime on the Rome Statute, which would make ecocide an international crime in the same way genocide is. It's a brilliant concept, and also offers a potential defence for activists who act on moral grounds as conscientious protectors of the planet.

I've dropped an extra in too, of a fellow who was terrifying the local bird population this morning. Taken through double glazing, so not very clear, but by the time I'd gently opened the door, someone walked into the park and whoosh he was gone! Negative sparrow hawk.
