Teal Drake
Down into Lancashire for one of my periodic regional meetings. Lovely weather but the traffic on the M6 was beyond a joke. Fortunately the business was concluded on time and after a nice lunch with the weather still fine I heard the reserve calling.
So off I went to Mere Sands Reserve. Many changes since my last visit, a new building has been erected and the thinning out of the trees coupled with the clearing of Rhododendron is progressing well.
However it wasn't a particularly interesting day from a bird point of view. They were all except the Teal and a single Coot far to far away for photography.
Birds seen:
Canada Goose,
Tufted Duck
Mallard
Goosander
Teal
Coot
Moorhen
Blackbird
Robin
