Erosion

This island, Kauai, is actually very large but only a small proportion of it is above sea level.  This picture shows large pieces of black larva rock which have broken off larger rock formations as a result of erosion. Beyond these rocks is an area of sandstone which resembles the Giants Causeway in Ireland.  As the rock cooled it set into somewhat regular pentagons.
