What is happening to the NHS?

I’ve worked in the NHS for years and fully understand the pressures on the system and the excellent work done to deliver good services. Over the last few weeks we’ve been wrapped up in the health problems of my younger sister ( hence fewer blip postings). Today I’m motivated to post a blip because I want to rant against a system that discharges someone three days after having a lung lobe removed and then keeps them waiting in the Discharge lounge for three hours waiting for medication. Her home is over an hour drive from the hospital so we have brought her home with us to recover from that prolonged wait. What is going on ???
