Bright and new.
Another bad night so yet again I didn't do the early walk. I believe it was very icy first thing. Lovely blue skies followed and as we had a visit from our friend the door maker due in the afternoon we needed to pop out to do a bit of research.
Whilst out I wanted to pop down to Utley Cemetery as it would have been my mother's birthday next week. Lots of snowdrops on show and even some daffs coming through but sadly those I planted on my mother's resting place were not in evidence at all. Think it's not very well drained in that particular spot. I'd hoped by now they would have been established and naturalised.
On the way back we popped into Cliffe Castle for a very quick look at developments which I know have been going on for some time. The conservatories and cafe are looking wonderfully bright and new especially in today's sunshine but are sadly not open yet. They seem to be working on the bird houses at the moment.
I confess since Tom visited after lunch I've been laid on the sofa. Not sure if I can muster the energy for rehearsal tonight.
I suppose it's better now than in two weeks tonight when the show will go on whatever.
(Bye the way most of you were right about the Little Bo Peep costume.)
