Full Moon over Finzels Reach.
Blue, and Super, but not particularly Red as advertised...
Janet had a top to return to Laura Ashley, who advertise they were open today until eight. So nipping into Bristol at seven thirty and finding it dark and locked up was disappointing, well, for Janet.
We continued on, seeking something relevant to a Wide Wednesday and an "Urban" theme. Here's a bit of Bristol some of you will recognise. Hey, some of you might still be in the picture... It's not too bad a shot. If you go LARGE you can even make out Orion's Belt in the sky to the right of the crane with the red light.
On a different tack, and primarily because I'm kind of using this as a journal as much as a photo site. Last night I attended the inaugural - in fact the first one of it's type in the country - meeting of the Bristol Bike Theft Awareness group. More than a hundred and sixty bikers turned out to question the Police and Crime Commissioner, Police and Local Councillors on what can be done about the growing menace of motorcycle theft and stolen motorcycle assisted crime.
Ity was clear the police were doing what they could albeit poorly with utterly depleted resources, but a number of ridiculous instances were brought up such as the police telling the victim (who knew where her stolen bike was) to knock on the door and ask the thief to hold the bike for when a police resource could be made available!
It was clear that a growing number of bikers are preparing to seek private solutions to this problem, and the police tentatively agreed that some self policing might be appropriate in the lack of government support. I think the police and the commissioner went away better informed, but I suspect the bikers have a clear indication now as to a way ahead.
Gonna be messy.
