Off to Work
These ladies were just wading out at around lunchtime to collect shellfish which are attached to the rocks . They use a pointed hammer to break the shell, and once the shell is open, they use another implement to extract the meat and then they drop the meat into a bucket. It takes a huge number of shellfish to fill one of those buckets.
When we walked along the beach to the village, there was a sea eagle continually diving into the water very close to where these ladies are, but none of the photos show it in much detail.
The extras are a Greater Death's Head Hawkmoth, resting on the hull of a boat which was being repaired, and the other is a beautiful flower in the nearby village.
