St Andrews Cathedral
If one were to ask for the most stereotypical St Andrews photograph...
The cathedral was abandoned during the reformation and used as a local quarry throughout the following centuries. Why? I often wonder, couldn't the reformers have had an appreciation for history, or, I guess what would be their future... it's complicated. It's really inconsiderate of them to leave me only a half a cathedral to walk round wondering how different St Andrews would be had the cathedral been left alone. Probably something like York.
And we probably would have kept the title of capital.
