script for a Jester's tear

evening all,

Teaching the junior doctors in the morning.

They think my preparation is so modern, organised and high tech.

Actually this is genuinely how I prepare:

 Alcohol, big roll of lining paper to scrawl on, fountain pens, quills and ink,  load music in background , lighting by candle, and a fistful of references to pinch ideas from, then in a semi drunken stupor, write till you pass out. Transpose to modern tech on waking up..

(In a previous life I was a Benedictine monk, hunched over illuminated parchment, illustrating feverishly big bold coloured script, and drawing rude pictures in the margins.......)
