A dry start so took the chance to make a start giving some cows their annual fluke injection. This is to kill liver fluke , which if left untreated can cause serious liver damage and death.
The drug of choice is called Trodax and they get 18 ml each under the skin. The only problem is it has a nice bright yellow colour which stains everything. By the end of play today my hands look like I am a 40 a day smoker !
Phoned up Gary at McCaskies to order some more only to be told there is a shortage as a result of a manufacturing ' bad batch'. This is becoming a problem as there is also a shortage of a certain sheep vaccine just now for the same reason. Managed to order a different drug which should be here tomorrow.
A quick dash to the Fort Kinnaird shopping complex tonight as it is Mrs Fs birthday tomorrow . I hope she appreciates the effort as I hate those places with a vengeance !
