Still white...

Just can't resist taking photos of this lovely flower.....the subtle whites and yellows.....

It's been blowing like crazy all day here....lots of snow and wind whipping it around.....so haven't gone anywhere outside!   so i've been exploring some oil paint mixed with cold wax....it's gonna take some time to get used to this medium, so much more mixing  to do compared to the use of pastels.   but i'm game for a bit of challenge and change!   but it is so much messier....and i'm not a neat freak by any stretch of the word....but the oil paint just seems to get everywhere!!!

Just finished a really wonderful book...Fifteen Dogs by Andre Alexis!  wow, it was brilliant.....crazy premise:  Apollo and Hermes are in a bar in Toronto and set a wager that involves giving dogs human intelligence!    It is all set in my old stomping grounds in Toronto so that in itself was fun!   but it is moving and insightful...philosophical also!  highly recommend it!  It won the Giller Prize a couple of years ago!  now to find my next read!!!
