Happy birthday Mum!

My dear Mum was 89 today. This is her first birthday in the Residential Home she moved into 11 weeks ago. When a resident celebrates a birthday they choose the lunch menu and they can have 3 courses plus wine if they want. Mum chose grapefruit, oranges and strawberries to start, roast beef and all the trimmings for main and profiteroles for dessert. There was tea or coffee too. My brother and I were invited to join her for lunch. I told him he had to dress up so he wore a bow tie - it made us smile! At tea time she will have had a specially made birthday cake too. I think she's been spoilt and had a lovely day. She deserves it!
