Burning

I have visitors coming to stay from Friday which means the study needs clearing out as it is used as a guest bedroom.

It’s a job I’ve been doing bit by bit for the last few years but now I’m being ruthless. I’ve burned almost everything from my primary school teacher days ( I couldn’t recycle stuff that had private info or children’s names on it) all my teaching practice stuff is gone plus many letters from friends over the years and tons of notes from my doctorate. I’m keeping a few letters from friends and I’ve burned a lifetime of birthday cards and the like (I must be a bit of a hoarder) but I’m keeping about 20 that are particularly sentimental for me. I’ve lost track of how much I chucked, the shelves must be breathing a sigh of relief! I think the neighbours will be relieved too- the fire was pretty industrial in size this time- I think I’ll need one more fire before I am done!
