View from the Dock
"Time is but the stream I go a-fishing in. I drink at it; but while I drink I see the sandy bottom and detect how shallow it is. Its thin current slides away, but eternity remains." - Henry David Thoreau, "Walden" or "Life in the Woods - Where I Lived, and What I Lived For"
A hard freeze overnight. The first light hits the frost. It steams and rises. Fairy mist.
A quick stop at a pond I love. A few stolen moments of solitude. Breathe in. Breathe out.
The light breaks. The trees shine. The hills shine. We all shine.
The mist rises. A bird cries. Time slips. Eternity remains.
