Jitney

Dad alongside his "Jitney" as we used to call pick-ups in Trinidad. At that time there were no Land Rovers there and so an American "truck" was used. I have no idea what make.

On tomorrows photo a better view showing it as having a two-person cab and a load platform behind. He needed this as most of his work was done in the jungle with his 4-strong team of men.

It was the first vehicle I ever travelled in - from the hospital in Port of Spain to our house, probably a three-hour bumpy drive back then. It takes good two hours now in 2018.
