Hill of Tarvit Greenhouse
It was a beautiful morning today-brilliantly sunny and not too cold.
My wee uncle died on Friday-how his wife of 58 years was able to look after him so well at home with minimal support was a miracle.
We have been back and forward to Glasgow and J will go again tomorrow to stay overnight with my aunt and I will go on Thursday.
Because his death was an industrial disease(Mesothelioma) caused by exposure to asbestos, there has to be a Post Mortem next week so the funeral will be delayed. This resulted in two police cars and 4 policemen arriving at the house just after he died as there was a mix up with the info the GP passed to the Procurator Fiscal.
You would think a straightforward procedure could be implemented to save that kind of distress for an 86 year old woman whose husband has just died.
The only saving grace was that my sister in law who is the Practice Nurse at their surgery was in the house prior to picking up the prescription for setting up the Syringe Driver.
She did lighten the tone by saying-he achieved what we all want-to die in his own bed!
