A black-capped chickadee, being adorable and making for a very easy choice of photo today.

Also, the pose of the little guy/gal, looking up hopefully, is apropos as I learned some very encouraging news today about a friend who's been going through a really horrible post-surgical experience.  Her situation has been critical for the last 10 days, but finally some good news.  Very happy; very relieved; very hopeful.  

Hubs and I went to get passport photos taken as we both need to renew.  Honestly, all that is missing is a sign with numbers - we both look like hardened (and aging) criminals!

And tomorrow is my birthday.  Yikes.  Is it just me, or does it seem like they come around a lot more often than they used to?
