It's not true!

I did more than 26 steps today, it's just that the Fitbit spent most of the day charging.

I read today that US troops in high security bases in the Middle East have left their settings on 'public' which means that their jogging routes using apps like Strava are publicly available and show predictable patterns as well as what areas have high density of personnel at different times. A big oops there.

There was also the story of the murder that was solved using a similar fitness tracker. A man claimed that he came home to find his wife dead and called the police. But using CCTV they managed to work out his time of arrival home and from his wife's fitness tracker, that she was alive and had a heartbeat when he got home. He was convicted of her murder.
