Burns Supper

Strictly speaking this was on Saturday night, but since it didn't finish until after midnight and it was nearly 2am by the time I got home, I'm counting it as a sunday blip.

My first ever Burns Supper - complete with the Rendall Pipe Band.
A very tasty traditional meal, served by the young pipe band members. Following the speeches, there was music from the Pipe Band, then dancing. Rather over-fast dancing! But I'm being fussy. It was a good evening.

It was such a wild night of weather I was unsure whether I'd make it over and then, would I be able to get back?
Luckily, though, the Barriers remained open. It was a fairly wet crossing, both ways, but by the early hours of Sunday the wind had eased and the tide was lower, so less wave splashing.

I kept myself awake on the way home by munching chocolates out of the tub of 'Celebrations' I won in the raffle. I tried, by feeling in the dark, with my left hand into the tub on the passenger seat, to find only my favourites - the malteser ones. 100% success rate! Little things...!
